I am a living example of the grace of God. I already gave up
searching for better days ahead. I was motivated by members of the
JCS group to keep searching and not give up. I am very grateful
for getting introduced to this group. I joined JCS around
November, 2022. I was taught on how to send cold mail to schools
and Professor. They helped to build my CV and statement of Purpose
which boosted my confidence in the application process. I
submitted my application to university of Missouri in April 2023,
and I received my assistantship offer letter first week of May. It
was a miracle. JCS group conducted mock interview to prepare us
for the next stage, and it was a really helpful. I went for my
interview and I got my visa on the 20th of June. Thanks to JCS

I got to know about the group through scholar Funbi who added me
sometime in 2021. Prior to joining JCS, all I had was the
intention of going abroad to further my education. I didn't know
how to go about it. In JCS, I met other like-minded young
Nigerians like myself who were passionate about studying abroad.
Like really passionate. They would always post open positions in
different institutions both in the US and in Europe. And the group
was so organised. I knew that this was my last bus stop. Lol. I
learnt how to write an SOP, create my Academic resume, draft a
cold email and other important tips to know about when making an
application to Grad school abroad. As a matter of fact, when I got
the green light from my school, Scholar Happiness was with me
every step of the way and worked with me on drafting responses,
preparing for the interview with my PI and other things that came
up after that. All of the assistance, resources and training I got
from JCS helped me get where I am today and I'm grateful for that.
Special appreciation to Scholar Funbi and Scholar Happiness.

I learned about JCS through one of its founding members, Funbi,
in January 2022. We were both employees at a firm in Lagos, where
we learned about our mutual interest in grad school. He then
introduced me to JCS so I could also meet with other students with
similar ambitions. Before joining JCS, I had gained admission to
Georgia Tech for the fall of 2022, but my funding wasn't coming
through. Unfortunately for me, that was the only school I applied
to for the admission cycle, as it was my top choice. Going through
testimonies of people with fully funded offers at JCS and Funbi's
constant push to continue mailing my Graduate Coordinator and
other faculties in my department at Georgia Tech kept me going. I
wasn't able to secure an advisor for Fall 2022, so I deferred to
Spring 2023. I also started putting in my application to other
schools for Fall 2023 while using resources provided on JCS' drive
link to send cold emails to prospective advisors. I eventually got
a response from my current lab to resume in January 2023 after
sending a message to my advisor on LinkedIn. JCS was instrumental
in this journey, as I met a community of intellectuals with the
same goal of bettering the future of the world.

Ayinde Moshood
Western Illinois University
My scholarship journey began in 2020 after completing my national
service, with the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth scholarship. I was
placed on the reserve list and faced rejections and unfortunate
emails. A friend introduced me to JCS, which provided me with
hope, knowledge, and unwavering support. I submitted multiple
applications and secured funding for a Master of Science Degree in
Biological Sciences at Western Illinois University in July 2023. I
am extremely grateful to the JCS community for selflessly posting
advertised positions and providing guidance and hopes that the
same blessings will overflow in their own lives. JCS is more than
just a community; it is a warm and nurturing family united by a
common purpose of uplifting one another. I encourage anyone
considering joining JCS to embrace the opportunity, let your
passion soar, and witness the transformation of their scholarship
journey and other aspects of their life. Together, we can achieve
greatness and inspire others to reach for the stars. JCS is the
epitome of hope, and I is proud to be a part of this incredible
family. #TillWeAllWin

Oregon State University
I joined the JCS group in July, 2022, completely clueless about
the whole scholarship process. As advised by Kunle Omole who added
me to the group, I started by watching the webinar on the JCS link
and at the end of the day, I realized it was more than enough to
begin the journey. The JCS link also had other resources like how
to write CV, SOP, cover letter, etc. They were really helpful. If
there is anything I will be forever grateful for in the JCS group,
it will be networking. There in the group, I met someone who was
already a student at Oregon State University and I reached out. He
was very helpful and even connected me with someone else who was
directly in my program. That made the journey a lot easier for me
as I had access to first-hand information like insights on the
professors to coldmail, who was easier to work with, the school
systems, etc. Information richer than what you can find on the
website. In all, the JCS community is a strong stakeholder in my
USA fully funded application journey. As I write this, I am
preparing to begin a PhD program in fall 2023 without a masters
degree. That is a big deal for me!

My academic journey has been greatly influenced by JCS. This
Community provided invaluable guidance and support, including
personal preparation for GRE, Duolingo, and WES reports. Mr.
Omole's genuine care for the members fostered a positive learning
environment, and his mentorship program was transformative. The
community's networking opportunities, camaraderie, and shared
experiences fostered a positive learning environment, enabling me
to grow both academically and personally. I also received
comprehensive preparation for interviews, standardized tests, and
other essential components of the application process. The
guidance on crafting a compelling personal statement and
highlighting unique strengths proved invaluable in securing a
fully funded offer at Georgia Southern University. I am grateful
for the unwavering support received from the JCS Community, which
has made a significant difference in my educational journey. I am
so grateful for the opportunity to share my experience and sincere
gratitude to JCS, Mr. Omole, and Mr. Ajayi for their prompt
response to queries. #TillWeAllWin
Felix Okeowo
University of Chinese Academy of Sciences
My scholarship search began in 2021 after completing a one-year
mandatory service. I met Omole, who introduced me to JCS, a
community of like-minded individuals who aim to empower others
through education. JCS provided valuable advice on personal
statements, recommendation letters, interview preparation, and
constructive criticism helped improve my chances of success. The
path to earning scholarships was challenging, but JCS provided a
steady foundation during those trying times. Stories of their own
trials and rejections inspired me to persevere, strengthening my
resilience and determination. JCS also facilitated networking with
prior scholarship recipients, providing valuable insights into
their experiences. Dr. Ozioma Akakuru's influence was significant,
as he helped me obtain a fully funded scholarship through the
Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) in China.
This scholarship allowed the author to focus solely on my studies
and take advantage of various academic and extracurricular
opportunities without financial constraints. My success and
dedication to JCS have shaped my academic career, and I aim to pay
it forward and uplift others on their educational journeys.

Oluwadare Bisola Blessing
Georgia Southern University
I want to express my deep gratitude to the JCS community for
their extraordinary impact on my educational journey, particularly
in guiding and supporting me through the application process for a
full funded MSc program at Georgia Southern University. The
community's camaraderie and willingness to help each other achieve
academic aspirations set the tone for a life-changing experience.
The wealth of knowledge shared within the JCS community was
unparalleled, helping me to navigate complex procedures and make
informed decisions, ultimately securing a full funding
opportunity. The constant encouragement and motivation from fellow
members in JCS instilled great confidence in me to pursue my
dreams relentlessly. JCS stands out for its personalized support
and attention, genuinely acknowledging each member's concerns.
This level of care and support made me feel like part of a
close-knit family rather than just another participant in a
community. JCS became a hub for networking and discovering
exciting opportunities, broadening my perspectives and opening
doors to new possibilities and collaborations. As I prepare to
embark on my new chapter at Georgia Southern University, I promise
to carry the spirit of JCS with me and extend the same level of
support and guidance to others, so they too can benefit from this
incredible community. #TillWeAllWin
Chigozie Ngoka
Iowa State University
In 2020, I began my scholarship journey after submitting numerous
applications, including an Erasmus Mundus rejection letter. This
disappointment was particularly disheartening, as I had a
First-Class Honours degree from a Federal University in Nigeria
and was the best graduating student. However, my determination was
rekindled when a friend introduced her to Dr. Babajide Macaulay's
Telegram group, "Scholareach." This motivation was fueled by
another friend's successful admission to a US institution for a
PhD degree in spring 2022. In fall 2023, I applied to five schools
without securing a supervisor, and four ultimately rejected them.
Despite this, I was fortunate to be accepted into Iowa State
University's PhD in Biochemistry with full funding for fall 2023.
Although I joined the Japa Crew Scholar after submitting
applications and interviews, I believe my successful admission to
graduate school could have been more prominent had I learned about
the Japa Crew Scholar earlier. The Japa Crew Scholar provided
valuable resources and firsthand information during the visa
application and interview process, and the regular mock visa
sessions helped in overcoming anxiety and lead to the approval of
my visa in Abuja on June 13th, 2023.

University of Kentucky
I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support and guidance
through the JCS group members on my journey to securing two fully
funded offers at the University of Kentucky (MSc) and the
University of Cincinnati (PhD) respectively. Their collective
wisdom, encouragement, and shared experiences were instrumental in
helping me navigate the application process with confidence. Many
a time I wanted to quit after sending over 100 cold emails without
receiving even one "YES", but having a community like JCS has kept
me perseverant. I wouldn't have achieved this milestone without
their valuable insights and motivational words. Thank you all for
being my pillars of strength and for helping me realize my
academic dreams. #TillWeAllWin

At one point, it seemed almost impossible for me — that’s why I
want to thank everyone in the JCS group who made things easier.
Special thanks to Adekunle Omole for giving me the push I needed,
reminding me not to let my grade hold me back but to start
somewhere and put in the work. I also appreciate Adebowale and
Happiness for always being welcoming and guiding me. I’m very sure
I bombarded them with questions! Thanks to them, I was able to
master how to perform well during Zoom interviews. I faced several
rejections, even from opportunities I was quite confident about,
but I didn’t back down until I got that YES. Above all, I give all
thanks to God. I don’t have many words, but I’m truly grateful. I
don’t have much words, but I’m grateful.

I can't express enough of my gratitude for how joining this group
has transformed my path to graduate school. I am testifying to the
good things God has done in my life through the help of JAPA CREW
SCHOLARS (JCS) from day one of joining the group to the day I
secured two funded offers at Clarkson University 20% (MSc) and
fully funded (MSc) Georgia Southern University Statesboro Campus.
JCS is a group founded by collections of Nigerian graduates aiming
to make a good impact in graduate schools around the world through
scholarships and assistantships. Their great impact on my journey
to graduate school in one of the best universities In the United
States of America is very awesome though several assistants and
several encouragement. My journey would not have been easy if not
for the help of the like-minded scholars in the JCS Musa Xabit,
Omole, and Happiness Their unwavering support through this journey
cannot be underestimated because they restored my hope that
everything is possible when you are consistent and focused, I
wouldn't have made it this far if not for their courage. Having a
community like JCS is like a blessing you can't buy from the
market as an aspiring graduate student aiming for top school
around the world. A very big thanks to all the people in the JCS
community who make this possible through guidance support and
encouragement and I am also willing and ready to lift others
through the journey of graduate school around the world so that
everyone can win🏅on this journey
